Marie Anthony Wagner, age 85, passed away on January 29, 2026, in Hamilton, TX. Born Ada Marie Hollis March 10, 1940, in Austin, TX. Marie was the daughter of Reverends T.E. and Eddy Ada Hollis on March 10, 1940 in Austin, Texas. She was united in marriage to Billy Joe Anthony on September 2, 1956, spending 19 yrs together until his passing on October 9, 1975. Together, they shared 3 children. After 27 years she found love again and was united in marriage to Johnny West Wagner on November 12, 2002. They spent 23 years loving one another. Marie was best known as a warrior for Christ, a loving wife, Mom, Nana and Aunt Rea. She served her community as a nurse for over 40 years.
She was a faithful member of the Barn Church in Hamilton. While attending she created and served as the Ladies Ministry Director. She enjoyed singing on the Praise and Worship Team. She loved the Lord and spent years as an Evangelist traveling throughout Texas sharing God's word.
Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Billie Marie Anthony Beard and grandson Billy Joe Anthony lll as well as 4 sisters and 1 brother.
She is survived by her husband, Sons, Aaron Anthony (Cindy) of Grand Forks, BC, Canada, Billy Anthony JR of Luling, Johnny Wagner JR (Lisa) of Hamilton, Wayne Wagner (Rebecca) of Belton, Daughter, Martha Lancaster (James) of Hamilton. She also had 2 bonus daughters, Lisa Mayo Brister (Kenneth) of Lockhart and Lilly Newman (Curtis) of Oglesby. 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchild, as well as many family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Riley Funeral Home on February 4, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM also at Riley Funeral Home with interment at Oakwood Cemetery following.
