Alton Ray Boren

Graveside services were held Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas, with Reverend Marvin Andrews officiating. Visitation was held at The Riley Funeral Home Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM.

Alton was born May 30, 1937 in Coryell County, Texas to parents Henry Doil and Nellie Ruth Gibson Boren. Alton served his country in the United States Air Force. Alton married Maggie Hohertz on August 31, 1957. They made their home in Hamilton, Texas. Alton was considered to be a jack of many trades. Alton worked for Allstate Roofing Company and Hamilton Steele Company as a welder. As a small farmer, he enjoyed raising rabbits, mice, and various animals for laboratories. Alton also restored harness and horse drawn wagons. Alton also enjoyed gardening, hunting and taking his three girls fishing. Loving Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. Alton handled all of his life’s twist and turns with hard work and determination.

He is survived by: The mother of his children; Maggie Hohertz Boren of Hamilton, Texas, brother Pleas Boren of South Carolina, daughters Beverly Beeman of Hamilton, Texas, Brenda Conner of Louisiana and Becky Boren Pruit of Hamilton, Texas. Grandchildren John, Kim, Jennifer, Paskanell, Christopher, Shawna and Desiree of Hamilton, Texas, Michael, Brandy, Brittiani and Bethany of Louisiana. Great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Natasha, Harley, Jadith, Cameron, Landen, Ayden, Bailey, Kassidy and Kyndall.

Pallbearers were: Jackie Kissell, Ricky Boyd, Michael Conner II, John Beeman, Chris Daughtery, Chris Pratt, Matt Swanner and Dusty Thomison.
