Barney Lou (Weaver) Owens, after a full and blessed life, passed away October 5, 2016 at her home in Evant, Texas. Barney Lou was born August 18, 1933 on the V.A. Brown ranch n Edwards County to Barney and Tommie Epperson Weaver. She married Troy (Slick) Owens Jr. on August 24, 1949 in Kerrville, Texas. The moved to Galveston a year later. In 1960 they began their business Galveston Brace& Limb Company. She remained active in the business successfully running it for 5 years after the illness and death of her husband, selling it in 1988.
She is survived by her sons, Edward Owens, of Evant, Clifford Owens and wife Carol of Santa Fe Texas. daughter Kyra Giddens and husband Jody of Leander. grandchildren Miranda Moore of Houston, Cliff Owens, of Friendswood and Tiffany Giddens of Austin. two great grandsons Conner & Jackson Owens. Sister Tommye Santos of West Liberty, Iowa.
