Bernice Bertha Kunkel Wendland, 96, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026. Bernice was born on October 6, 1930. She graduated from Priddy High School in 1948. In the same year, she married Arthur “Slim” Wendland, and purchased a farm near Pottsville. They became members of the Pottsville Trinity Lutheran Church in 1948 until present.
Bernice worked at Patty’s of Texas, Hamilton County Tax Assessor/Collector, and was secretary of Hamilton Electric Coop for 18 years. She then semi-retired and started her own business, Texas Travelers, where she organized many bus trips to various places.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Slim (2003). She is survived by her child: Janet Adams, and her spouse, Bill Adams of Shive. Her grandson: Clint Adams and his spouse, Stephanie and three great-grandchildren: Nate, Alyssa and Avery.
