Blain Matthew Bankston was born in Hamilton, TX on March 24, 2002 to Brent and Victoria Bankston. He had two siblings, Chelsi and Bryce, whom he loved fiercely! Being a hometown athlete, most know Blain's passion for Bulldog football! He was a star on the field and a leader in the field house! He considered his teammates his brothers, as well as so many Bulldog Buddies! Blain also loved baseball and track, as long as Coach D wouldn't ask him to run the 4 X 400 relay! In his free time, Blain loved the outdoors and spent time hunting and fishing. He had tons of friends who could always count on him to answer their call. He absolutely hated bullying and was known for his willingness to intervene on behalf of others. He was known for his manners and always being respectful and polite. Blain spent a lot of time trying to convince his "step parents", Kendra and Tyler Schmidt, to let him drive their truck "White Trash". He was also super impressed with himself when he took his muffler off of his truck and made it extra loud. Blain loved his puppy, Blue, and Bush's sweet tea. He spent his summers working at Lawson's and recently began working at Brookshire's. Blain was a part of a huge family, some through biology and other through love! Most recently and importantly, Blain developed a strong relationship with Jesus Christ! The love Blain found for Christ was something he desperately wanted to share with others. He wanted to make a change in his community! Let this be his greatest legacy!!!!!

Philippians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength NIV

Bubba, you have no idea how loved you were. Your smile and your laugh were contagious. I will forever cherish the memories I have of you and my kids, the many sleepovers you all had. I miss those days of you all being so small.
I love that you were never to big to tell me, “Nene, I love you.” I will hold that close to heart always. Fly high sweet boy, watch over your Momma, Daddy and your precious siblings!

Love always,
Nene

One of the kindest, most genuine souls i’ve ever known. Blain helped me through so much, he was always right there when I neeeded him. He even broke down ole “Reba” coming to Gustine to pick me up when I was feeling down. I could never forget our memories or that goofy smile. Hamilton will never be the same, I love you Blain. You deserved so much more from life. Rest easy kiddo.. 💛

I have only wonderful memories of Blain that always will bring a smile to my lips: helping Blain make dog ears for a book report (Hank the Cow Dog) in 5th grade; watching Blain whip back his bangs with his special flair; also working and giving 100% on everything ; and always, always showing respect in class. I’ve love watching you thru the years with your athletic skills. You HAVE made a difference in so many lives. I give thanks that I got to know you. ❤️

Blain was always such a kind young man any time he saw me. During little league football season this year, I needed to go get Ty, but instead I asked Blain to and handed him my keys. 45 minutes later they finally got back to the field... 😂 He was always a helping hand, a smiling face, and a kind hello. I enjoyed seeing him at the grocery store. My deepest prayers are being sent to your family.

I don’t think there was a time Blain wasn’t around when I needed him. If I wanted ice cream, he would go get me ice cream and bring it out to my house. He will be missed so much!
