He was born to Jule and Mildred (Bolton) Burns on January 25, 1947 in Hamilton County, Texas.
He met and married the love of his life, Estelle Crawford and together they raised their adopted daughter.
Don was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He was also a big hearted and caring man that would help anyone who needed it. Don was an avid Elvis fan. He had a large collection of cars and he enjoyed working on them. His favorite was his 57 Ford. He owned rental property and was loved by many renters.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Burns.
He is survived by his wife Estelle (Crawford) Burns, daughter; Kristina Crawford of Hamilton, brother and sister in law; Randall and Demerice (Dee) Burns of Fort Worth, granddaughters; Destiny Weido and Amanda Sims both of Hamilton, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Riley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Riley Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
