

Curtis is survived by his wife Kathleen, his sons Travis and Clint, daughters-in-law Nikki and Jennifer, his grandchildren Harper, Lawson, Isla, Gwen, and Sydney, and his siblings, Peggy Taylor, Rob Broughton, and Rusty Broughton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Charlene Broughton.
Curtis was born on December 16, 1951 in El Paso, TX. He graduated from Austin High School in 1970 and maintained close relationships with his classmates for over 50 years. In 1974 Curtis graduated from the University of Texas El Paso with a degree in Business Administration. He married Kathleen in Albuquerque, NM on October 9, 1977.
Curtis began his career in the automotive industry out of college in El Paso. Over a forty year career, Curtis managed and owned car dealerships in Albuquerque, Lubbock, Denton, and Lewisville where he earned respect and friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Curtis was an avid outdoorsman, with a passion for fishing and hunting. He and Kathleen retired to their Mesquite Creek Ranch in Hamilton in 2011. Curtis also enjoyed traveling and has seen much of the world. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his family and participating in his sons’ and grandchildrens’ activities.
Curtis’s family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
