OBITUARY
Darman Roy Wagner
August 12, 1937 – January 20, 2023

IN THE CARE OF
Riley Funeral Home
Darman Roy Wagner, 85, entered into his eternal home January 20,2023. He was born August 12, 1937 on the family farm in the Springdale community of Hamilton County south of Pottsville.
He was the youngest child of Herman and Frieda Drueckhammer Wagner. Darman was born, baptized, and raised in the same house on the same farm that he worked to maintain throughout his life. He was confirmed into faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville on July 8, 1951, by Pastor E.H. Kuleman. He joined St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton after he and his wonderful wife, Jane Bottlinger, were joined together in marriage August 1, 1959.
Darman spent six years in the military. Six months were spent on active duty in Ford Ord, California and the remainder in the active Army Reserve until discharge. Patriotism ran deep in his blood. He believed strongly in God, family, Country and freedom.
As an active member of the church, he enjoyed serving in multiple roles such as Elder, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. He also served as Youth Counselor, along with his wife, Jane, for several years. It’s questionable who had more fun – Darman or the youth. He always believed in trying to lead by example.
He spent most of his life working in construction, primarily in underground utilities, from one point of Texas to the other and many, many points in between. Not knowing at the time, the Lord was showing him the beauty of this wonderful and diverse state. He and his wife always took pride in their wonderful homestead that the Lord God blessed them with.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leamon Wagner, Ben Wagner, and sister Mabeline Turnbow. He is survived by his wife Jane, two sons Doug and wife Tammy, and Darrell and wife Kristi, grandchildren, Emily, Caleb, Reagan, and Henlee, and a host of other family and friends.
