Dorothy Meissner

Dorothy Jean Meissner entered her heavenly home at age 84 on Saturday, April 7, 2018, in Round Rock, Texas. She was born in Hamilton, Texas, on March 25, 1934, to parents Robert and Esther Williams, and baptized in Hamilton, Texas, in 1934. Dorothy was a graduate of Scott and White Nursing School in Temple, Texas, in 1956. Her first calling in life was to serve her Lord in Nigeria as a missionary's wife for five years and to start raising her four daughters. She subsequently served for the next 30+ years as nurse for several counties throughout central Texas, in addition to being Mom, pastor's wife, and church organist at the following Lutheran congregations: Good Shepherd in Azle, Texas; Zion in Anderson, Texas; Prince of Peace in Belton, Texas; St Paul in Aleman, Texas. Dorothy dedicated her life to her Lord with a quiet but strong wisdom along with a servant's heart as faithful wife, loving mother, gracious mother-in-law, and beloved "GrandDot." Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Alvin Meissner. She is survived by her four daughters Marcy Menke (Ken), Becky Menke (Tom), Mimi Winkler (Chris), and Rachel DeYoung (Michael), in addition to grandchildren Joshua, Benjamin (Emily), Heidi (Joe), Andrew, Noah, Kelsey (Kyle), Jacob, Hannah, Daniel, Luke, Gabriel, and great-grandchildren Tyler, Owen, and Trevor. She is also survived by her two brothers, Harold Williams (Linda) and Ken Williams (Kathy); sister-in-law Shirley Meissner and brother-in-law Robert Meissner.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4010 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the following: Jesus is Lord Mission (JILM), Walburg, Texas; Concordia High School, Pflugerville, Texas; Concordia University, Austin, Texas.

My heart is broken at the news of your mom's sudden passing. Praise to the Lord that she and your dad are now reunited in His Glory.
