

Ina was born in Pottsville, Texas November 19, 1907, the daughter of Will and Lillian Potts Jenkins. She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1925. On September 7, 1935 she married Ollie Kinsey. She passed away at Dove Hill Nursing Center in Hamilton on July 15. She was 105 years old.
Her family's home was near the intersection of FM 221 and FM 218. Her family donated some of their land for the Pottsville Cemetery. Her grandfather William Harrison Potts was a constable in Pottsville and her great-grandfather Captain John Potts was the first in her family to live in Pottsville, hence the name of the community. Both are buried in the Pottsville Cemetery.
While in Pottsville High School, Ina played basketball along with childhood friend Pearl Riley. They played against Shive and Star teams. She loved it so much she came back and played the year after she graduated. She lived on the Riley farm in a "Sears house" during her school years.
She spent much of her life as a member of the "Home Demonstration Club" which is now the AgriLife Extension Education Club. She joined the Pottsville Club when she was a young teenager and she held membership at her death, having spent 90 plus years in the club. As she and Ollie moved during their life together, she was instrumental in the organization of 3 clubs in various towns. She loved the work, friendships and education that the clubs offered. She was named Hamilton County "Texas Treasure" in 2007.
Her family continued to live in Pottsville and after raising her children in Miles & San Angelo for 40 years then she moved back to Pottsville in 1977. She was a wonderful mother, dedicated grandmother and great grandmother. She was an excellent gardener, seamstress and cook. She always enjoyed sharing her knowledge and recipes with others.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 18 at Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 17. Burial will follow in the Pottsville Public Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie, a sister Thelma Waight and a brother Herbert.
She is survived by two sons, James William Kinsey and his wife Lou and Dale Alan Kinsey and two daughters Jean Tomlinson and husband Bill and June Hivnor and husband Phil all of Pottsville. She had seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren & three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
