A very sweet lady. When I met her, she lived on Meander in Abilene. My daughter Tifani Smith and I are friends with Cole, Marsha and Jacob (Jake). I had hoped to attend the funeral, but had a previous obligation. Sending warm wishes to the family as they celebrate her life.

Jewel Sellers was one of my mothers. Bobby Sellers, Robert Kooken and I would spend many hours playing in their house, their yard, their chicken house, being loud rowdy and generally creating a ruckus. Miz Sellers would lovingly watch over and let us be the boys we were. She was always a strong motherly presence and gave me a lot of affection and guidance. We boys learned at her house how a real loving family operates, and we were always welcome at her house and in her kitchen for the freshest fried chicken and corn I’ve ever eaten. I loved “Miz Sellers” and her whole brood, and she openly loved us boys. She is one of the bedrocks of my childhood upbringing, and I’m grateful to have been in a part of her life.
Thank you, Jewel Sellers, for your gifts of heart and character to my family and to Hamilton.
