

Jewell Adeline Sorley Sellers, 89, of Hamilton passed away June 1, 2011 in the forest Oaks Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Funeral services were held Saturday June 4th, 2011 at 10:00 am in the Hamilton First United Methodist Church with Matt Hall and Ted Sellers officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.
Jewell was born March 14, 1922 in Cranfills Gap, Texas to John and Annie Sorley. She received a business degree from the business school of Austin. She married Frank Sellers in the First United Methodist Church of Cranfills Gap. Frank preceded her in death in December of 1979. Jewell was a 65 Year member of the Hamilton First United Methodist Church and had served as the church secretary for many years. Jewell was a very active member of the United Methodist women’s group. She enjoyed cooking very much and provided for the Lions club for many years. Jewell was known for her Rolls and Chicken and Dressing by all the Lions Club Members. She will always be remembered by her grandchildren for her Chicken and Dumplings, Chocolate meringue pies, and Meal Pies.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Sorley, her parents, John and Annie Sorley, her sister, Hayden Neie and her son-in-law, Joe Sanders.
Jewell is survived by; her sons and daughter in laws, Bobby and Nancy Sellers of Hamilton, Ted and Cathy Sellers of Iraan, and Stanley and Shanon Sellers of Hamilton, and her daughter, Barbara Sanders of Hamilton. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Sellers of Taylor, Miles and Gina Sellers of Hamilton, Joe and Elisa Lester of Gustine, Cristi and Michael Chabarria of Austin, Jason and Amy Sellers of Hamilton, Jessica Sellers and Fiance Caleb Duncan of Hico and Dr. James and Amanda Sanders of Dallas.
She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Justin, Paige and Jacob Lester of Gustine, Sara and Matthew Chabarria of Austin, Carle and Hannah Sellers of Hamilton. Also surviving her is her sister Minerda Sutherland of Houston, Sister-in law, Prudence Jones of Lanham, Joy Wilson of Houston and her Brothers in law, Carl Sellers of Fairy and Wesley Jones of Temple. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Serving the great honor as pallbearer were; Joe Lester, Jason Sellers, Michael Chabarria, James Sanders, Kyle sellers, Miles Sellers, Caleb Duncan, and Don Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearers were; Paul Henderson, Leonard Kirkland, Dr. Monte Horne, Bobby Stephens, Ken Waggener, and James Tilsher.
