Joe Henry Townsend

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Felton officiation. Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Riley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Murphree Cemetery in Evant, Texas.

Joe was born May 1, 1915 in the Fairview Community, Texas to Thomas Henry and Susie Townsend. Joe served his Country with the United States Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Joe married Beth Brandon Kinsel August 1987. Joe worked as a manager for Ward Orchard in Avon Park, Florida before retiring and moving to Hamilton. Joe was a member of the VFW in Clifton, Texas.

He is survived by nephews, Donnie Townsend and wife Rosie of Hamilton; James Henry Townsend of Tolar; Curtis Dale Townsend and wife Becky of Brownwood; Roy Bates and wife Rita of Evant; nieces, Carolyn Jean Reed of Fort Worth; Mary Catherine Townsend of Fort Worth; Brenda Hoherz and husband Gene of Jonesboro, Linda Hill and husband Richard of Jonesboro; Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Susie Townsend; brother, Fred Townsend and sister Margaret Townsend Bates.
