Mr. John "John D" Debs McCoy Custer

John D. was born in Austin on January 24th, 1941 and grew up on the south side of San Antonio. He grew up a cowboy under the guidance of his father and grandfather. He also worked as a heavy machinery operator before making the move to trucking.

John D. married Sheryla Whiteside and together they had 2 children, twins Jason and Jonniece.

In 2018, John D. retired from truck driving and spent his time with friends and family.

John D. is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Virta Custer, wife Sheryla Custer, daughters Cheryl Norman and Melanie Sakis, and son John Custer.

He is survived by his daughter, Jonniece Montgomery, and 2 sons, Joel and Jason Custer, stepson Shannon Crowson and numerous grand children, great grand children and great great grand children.

A grave-side service was held at the Clairette Cemetery on July 23rd at 11:00.
