Karen Gail Carlisle Brumbalow, age 73, passed away on December 3rd, 2025 in Gatesville, TX. Born on July 1, 1952, Karen was the daughter of Robert and Martha (Pat) Carlisle. Karen went to school in Newark, TX, where she was a cheerleader and played on the basketball team. Her family moved to Hamilton when she was in high school, where she then lived the majority of her life. They lived on the Cowhouse Creek Ranch, where she enjoyed the banks of the Cowhouse Creek. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she never missed an extracurricular activity. She was so happy when she finally got a great grandson, Callahan. Karen also babysat many young and wonderful children in the community and worked for home health.
Karen was known for having the biggest sweet tooth (even though she was diabetic) and she especially loved pink stuff (ambrosia salad). Her family and friends will remember her for being a read-headed spit fire who loved oldies, country music, and Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her children Kimberly Anthony and Travis Brumbalow. She is a cherished grandmother to five grandchildren: London (Russ) Pulfer, Hope Anthony, Carlye Brumbalow, Kaleb Brumbalow, and Stormie Brumbalow. Karen also is a beloved great grandmother to her great grandson, Callahan Pulfer. Karen is preceded in death by her son, Robert Jason Brumbalow, maternal grandparents John and Mary Ethel Wright, paternal grandparents Benjamin F. and Mollie Carlisle, parents Robert and Martha (Pat) Carlisle, and brother Bobby Carlisle.
Her strength and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
