Laurie Ann Thompson, age 61 went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4, 2023. Laurie was born in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1961. She is survived by her brother James Thompson from Hamilton, Texas, sister Kathrine Elizabeth Thompson of Waco, Texas and Stepmother Naomi Thompson of Hamilton, Texas.
Throughout her life Laurie worked numerous Jobs. She served as overseer and supervisor for the Department of Public Safety at the underground command post, as a dispatcher in Austin, Texas; a 911 dispatcher for the City of Austin, Texas; and was a Flight For Life Dispatcher, in Las Vegas, Nevada; She shared supervision for Orientation and Mobility at The Lighthouse For The Blind in Dallas, Texas; She was a Retired Orientation and Mobility Instructor for the Garland Independent School district in Garland, Texas. She was currently employed by the Pflugerville school district to oversee, teach and train the visually impaired in Pflugerville, Texas. She is a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, in Visual Impairments & Orientation and Mobility from, Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, Texas.
She was a believer in Christ. She was a good friend to many people as well as coworkers and will be missed by all who knew her.
