Leamon Carl Adam Wagner was born October 7, 1922, in Priddy, Texas, to Herman and Freida Drueckhammer Wagner. In 1932, his parents bought and moved to the farm they purchased near Pottsville. Leamon helped his folks on the farm until being inducted into the United States Army on December 7, 1942. On December 14, 1942, he entered active duty. He served in the Ardennes Rhineland in central Europe as an ambulance driver. During his time in action, he received the World War II Victory Medal, three Bronze Stars, American Theater Campaign medals, European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the Purple-Heart earned for injuries received during the Battle of the Bulge, and the Meritorious Unit award in 1945. He was honorably discharged on December 1945 at Camp Fannin, Texas. He came home and bought himself a farm and farmed and raised Angus cattle. He also spent many years working as a road hand with Hamilton County Precinct 1, until he retired. Leamon was an active lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ben Wagner and sister Mabeline Turnbow.
Leamon is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lydia Wagner, one brother Darman Wagner and numerous nephews, nieces, and great and great-great family members and friends survives Leamon.
Mr. Wagner will lie in state Monday, July 27, 2020 from 8 am - 8 pm at Riley Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 2 pm at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville
