Lillye Zimmerman Sanders was born June 16, 1921 in Lincoln, Texas to John Christian Zimmerman and Hulda Lehman Zimmerman. She graduated from Giddings High School and entered nurses training with Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas. She completed training and received her certification as a Registered Nurse in 1946. She met the love of her life and married Wilbert O. Sanders in 1948. She worked at Seton Hospital in Austin and at the Austin Diagnostic Clinic with her beloved doctor, Leonard Sayers and his wife, Rosalee Sayers. She retired in 1982. She loved to travel with Wilbert, enjoying the outdoors and together they fished in many Texas Lakes. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She moved to Hamilton in April 2014 to be near her niece and nephew Tom and Connie White. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She is predeceased by her parents and her siblings Harriett Krause, Bettye Clark and Paul Zimmerman and sisters in law Alvina Koslan and Jewell Zimmerman. She is survived by her sister in law Lucille Sanders; nieces Charlotte Busch and husband, Paul Busch; Joyce Zimmerman and family; Connie White and husband, Tom White; Catherine Gruetzner and family and many other nieces and nephews.
