Linda was born on May 3, 1948, in Hamilton County, Texas, to James Pleas Keller and Frances Mary Tyson Keller. She was a proud graduate of Hamilton High School. On July 12, 1967, she married the love of her life, Bobby Dan Stevens, and together they made their home in Hamilton, where they raised their son, James Pleas Stevens.
Linda devoted much of her career to serving others, working for many years in nursing homes as a dietary aide. Her true calling, however, was as a devoted wife and mother. She had a servant’s heart and an unfailing kindness—she loved everyone and would do anything for anyone. She never let anyone leave without a hug and an “I love you.” Linda never missed a birthday and continued the beautiful tradition of writing letters and sending cards to those she cared about.
She loved her animals and found joy in nature, reading, and cooking. Her gentle spirit and generous heart touched everyone who knew her.
This past summer, Linda and her son, James Pleas Stevens, renewed their commitment to the Lord through baptism—a moment that reflected the deep faith and love that guided her life.
Linda is survived by her son, James Stevens; her beloved dog and companion, Bolt; one brother-in-law, Charlie Stevens (Debbie); sisters-in-law Glenda Wolf (Kevin), Judy White (James), Becky Porter, and Joy Stevens; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dan Stevens; her parents, James Pleas and Frances Mary Keller; brother Tom Keller; and brothers-in-law Billy Roy Stevens, James Stevens, Hershel Owen, and Kenneth Porter.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Hamilton.
Linda’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and faithfulness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she so dearly loved.
