Services for Luella Ida Ewald Luker will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at St John Lutheran Church of Hamilton. Reverend Keith Reich will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. She passed away Saturday, August 11 in a Hamilton nursing home.
Luella was born May 20, 1925 in Moccasin, Il to William Ewald and Carrie Mell Ewald. She was baptized June 14, 1925 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Point, Il and graduated from Altamont High School May 28, 1943. She married Carl E. Luker October 2, 1949 in St. Louis, MO. They lived in Copperas Cove and moved to Hamilton in 1951 where she promptly joined St John Lutheran Church. She was active in the Ruth Guild, LWML, taught Sunday school and helped in the kitchen.
Mrs. Luker was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; one granddaughter, Bethany Luker, one sister, Viola Stortzum, and one brother, Rudy Ewald.
Survivors include two sons Gary Luker of Blanco, and Dale Luker of Jersey City, NJ; two daughters Jan Atchison of Highland Village and Debbie Israelson of Ft. Worth; one brother, Clarence Ewald of Altamont, Il; seven grandchildren, Cory Raibourn, Dustin Richardson, Scott Luker, Lindsey Nelson, Trae Atchison, Samantha Keeney and Haley Atchison; and twelve great-grandchildren.
