Margaret Annsufic Bates

Margaret Townsend Bates, age 92, passed away April 4, 2012 in Clifton, Texas. Margaret was born on October 3, 1919 in Burnet County at the Hunziker home place to the parents of Henry and Susie Townsend. She married Arvel Bates, January 14, 1939 in Hamilton, Texas. Margaret and Arvel lived in Evant most of their married life. Margaret moved from the family farm to Hamilton and later moved to Clifton Care Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Arvel Bates; a son, W.H. Bates and her parents; Henry and Susan Townsend and a brother, Fred Townsend.

Margaret is survived by her son; Roy Bates and wife Rita of Evant; daughter, Brenda Hoherz and husband Gene of Jonesboro; daughter, Linda Hill and husband Richard of Jonesboro; daughter-in law Linda Bates of Rising Star; brother Joe Townsend of Hamilton, 20 Grandchildren, 27 Great-grandchildren and 9 Great-great-grandchildren.
