Mary Elizabeth Stephenson

Mrs. Stephenson was born on Friday October 28, 1921, to Adolphus Alexander and Dillie Agnes Evans Stevens in Hawley, Texas. Mary grew up in the Goldsmith community near Patricia Texas. She came from a large family of which she was the last one left. She loved music. She also deeply loved other people and enjoyed helping everyone.

On June 6, 1940, in Alamogordo, NM she was united in marriage to Thomas Dorsey (Dude) Stephenson. They shared 64 years together until he passed away on December 13, 2004. Mary worked for Hamilton General Hospital and retired from there as a cook.

She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Copeland of Midland, TX; and four sons Dean Stephenson and wife, Ann of Comanche, TX, Don Stephenson of Carrolton, TX, Dwayne Stephenson and wife, Sue of Bismarck, ND and Terry Stephenson of Lampasas, TX; Mary is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Riley Funeral Home. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Hamilton, Texas and the burial followed in Lamesa, TX in the Lamesa Memorial Park Cemetery on Friday April 10, 2015.
