Roland Garth Casey went to be with the Lord and join his family in Heaven on December 3, 2025. Roland was born December 31, 1933, to Charley Casey and Minnie Mae (Craig) Casey who have preceded him in death. Roland was the youngest child of Charley and Minnie. His brother C.G. Casey and sister Vonceil (Casey) Guthrie preceded him in death. Roland lived a full life and enjoyed being with family. He was an active hunter and gun enthusiast. Roland purchased his hunting license this year like many other years before. He went deer hunting and hog hunting as recently as November 2025. Roland did admit that he sometimes liked watching the deer more then shooting them. He grew up in the Gentry Mills community where his father owned a farm. Roland spent time with C.G. and his father farming the Casey farm. He served in the United States Army and was a proud veteran. During his service he spent time in Germany and would talk about this often. Roland retired from the Texas Highway Department and spent his retirement being with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his nephew Chester Hartin, niece Alane (Hartin) and husband Lem Guthrie and great nephew Steven Guthrie. He is survived by his nephew Evans Guthrie, niece Samantha Guthrie, niece Sheila (Guthrie) Tatum and husband Kevin Tatum. Roland is survived by his great nieces/nephews, Paula Guthrie and Scott Calley, Stephanie Guthrie and Jim Bob Partin, Jessica Partin, Shaleigh Byrom, Sawyer Partin, Madeline Guthrie, Casey Guthrie, Tristen Tatum, Trevor Tatum and Treyden Tatum.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00pm Thursday December 11, 2025 at Riley Funeral Home a graveside will follow at Gentry's Mill Cemetery at 2:00pm.
