Russ Mentzer went to see Jesus on September 29, 2025, at the age of 62.
Russ was a devoted Christian husband and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
Russ was born on November 25, 1962, in New Castle Pennsylvania to Russell William Mentzer Sr and Glenda Moffett Mentzer. He is a member of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church in Elwood City, Pennsylvania. Russ spent most of his early years in New Castle, Pennsylvania as an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. After graduation from Shenango High School in 1981, he and his family moved to Texas and opened Dray Manufacturing in Hamilton. Where he worked as a machinists. He also met and married the love of his life Jane Williams on May 26, 1984, where they built a life together for 41 years in Hamilton Texas.
Russ worked for Dray Manufacturing, Hamilton County, and Dignity Memorial (Riley Funeral Home) for a number of years. He enjoyed hunting as well as golfing at Perry Country Club. Where he cooked amazing steaks for all to enjoy.
He was preceded in death, by his parents Russell Mentzer Sr. and Glenda Mentzer.
Russ is survived by, the love of his life, Jane Williams Mentzer. Two sisters Sandy Pizzuti and husband Enzo of San Antonio, and Shari Montgomery and husband Ron of Hamilton, Tx. Aunts and uncles Barbara and Joe Tartaglione, and Shirl Mentzer of New Castle Pennsylvania. Cathey Williams Abel and husband Larry of Hamilton, Texas. Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. And his life long friend Jeff Cornelius (partner in shenanigans) of New Castle Pennsylvania.
Memorial Service will be held at Dignity Funeral Chapel on Saturday October 11, 2025 at 11:00 am.
