Samuel was born June 9, 2008 into the awaiting arms of his parents, Ian and Karla. From the moment he was born his inner joy shined. Samuel was born outside of Houston, Texas. His parents moved him and his younger brothers to the Hamilton area to give their boys an opportunity to grow up in the country. Samuel relished the freedoms of country life and very much enjoyed the time he spent exploring, kayaking, boating, fishing and hunting. He and his brothers enjoyed impressive sunsets and backyard bonfires. His family will always cherish those memories.
Samuel was a loving son and admirable big brother. He went out of his way to kiss his parents good night and help out with anything he was ever asked to do. After having one little brother, he asked for another. He led them with militant-like diligence making sure jobs were done right. He and his two younger brothers shared many laughs, ventures, squabbles and broken items. His family will miss the dynamic of three boys.
Samuel was a true friend. He cared for those around him. Samuel would share concerns about close friends and always wanted to help. He would share funny stories about school antics, often leaving his mother asking if anyone got into trouble. He valued his friendships deeply. His friends will miss his love and support.
Samuel loved music. He was a sophomore at Hamilton High School. He was a proud member of the Fighting Bulldog Band. He very much enjoyed the fact that his band played heavy metal songs. Samuel was an aspiring bassist and spent much time analyzing songwriting and guitar riffs. He loved attending concerts with his father. His family will miss the walls thumping loudly in his room.
Samuel’s kind and loving soul was evident. He helped his mother nurture many road-side dog rescues, showing love and compassion to those who had been discarded. Samuel found warmth and personality in cold-blooded reptiles. He had a fondness for his pet snakes and could convert those who were leary, including his mother, after spending time with his sweet natured scaly friends. His family will miss seeing him walk around with a snake draped around his shoulders.
Samuel loved to laugh. He found delight in making others smile. Samuel would send random jokes and funny videos to extended family members and friends often. He enjoyed pointing out the humor in situations. His family will miss his laugh and quick wit.
Samuel is survived by his parents and brothers, Ian, Karla, William and Benjamin; his grandmother, Tonya Naron; his grandparents, Gary and Debbie Frederick; his uncle Jason; his aunt and uncle, Valerie and Mark Northern and cousins Colby and Ty Northern; his aunt and uncle Jennifer and Valentine Villanueva and cousin Noah Villanueva. He is survived by numerous extended family members and friends, all of which will miss him dearly.
Samuel was dealt a very hard hand at ten years old with a brain tumor that caused seizures, disrupted thinking and limitations on his life. He endured more than any child should with numerous MRIs, hospital stays, doctor visits and eventually brain surgery in January of this year. Samuel had to withstand being on strong medications during this six year battle. His family knows the strength and courage Samuel had to keep fighting, as well as the toll it took on his young life.
