Faye was born near Miles, Texas on January 1, 1935 to the late Paul and Minnie Kennedy. From the death of her parents when she was 3 until adulthood, she made her home with her Uncle’s family, Earl and Ethel Kennedy. Her cherished cousins, Evelyn and Donald, were part of her family there.
Sylvia Faye and J.C. Lingle Jr. were married on March 24, 1951 in Odessa, Texas. They lived in Odessa, moving to Evant in 1962, where they worked together as dairy farmers for many years. Faye was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Wilma Heinze and Imogene Stewart, and special cousins Evelyn Batchelor and Donald Kennedy.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Lingle of Evant; two sons, Robert Lingle and wife, Ruth of Goldthwaite and Curtis Lingle of Goldthwaite; three granddaughters, Jeanie Gristy, Mary Faye Stalcup and husband Corbin and Bobbi Bradshaw and husband, Mark; one grandson, Travis Lingle and wife, Elizabeth and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service for Sylvia will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hurst Ranch Cemetery, CR 533 off Hwy 84, Star, Texas.
