Thomas Edison Patrick, Jr. was born in Dallas, Texas to Thomas Edison Patrick, Sr. and Johnie Petree Patrick on December 7, 1939. He died peacefully on July 9, 2025 at Pecan Creek Healthcare Center in Hamilton, Texas.
He traveled to various locations in Texas, Louisiana, and Kuwait with his family (his Dad working for Gulf Oil Corporation). After bringing in the first well in Kuwait, his dad developed a brain tumor and died when Tom was seven years old. His mother brought the family back to Hamilton and he lived with his maternal grandparents until they past away in 1954. The family moved to Midland, where his mother worked for Gulf Oil, as did he in the summers in the oil fields. Upon graduation from Schreiner Institute in Kerrville, Texas, he went into the air Force serving mostly in Colorado in Electronics. He then attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
Back to work at Gulf Oil after graduation, where he worked in marketing in Houston and then at the Petroleum Refinery Plant in Port Arthur. He returned to Houston to work in Financial Reporting until Chervon bought Gulf in 1985 and moved to California. He decided to retire.
In the meantime in 1981, he met Jane Burton Patrick and they were married on July 2, 1983. He left Houston in 1985 for Dallas and his wife’s job, which also moved to California. He moved again to Coleman, Texas with his wife and her job. After eight years in Coleman, he realized a lifelong dream, a move back to Hamilton to live on his grandparents’ farm, where he enjoyed all his favorite hobbies: fishing, hunting, woodworking, reading, working puzzles, cooking, grilling, gardening, community and church work and many more. He was a joy and a big personality.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and many extended family members. He is survived by his wife, Jane Patrick, sister and brother-in-law; Sally and David Freeman, Sister; Paula Patrick, sister-in-law; Doris Burton and nieces Janis Bennett, her husband Larry Bennett and son Keenan Bennett and Sona Chambers.Thomas is also survived by many extended family members.
