Vernon Thompson

Vernon Thompson, 87, of Hamilton passed away on Thursday October 7, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. Vernon was born December 2, 1922 in Hamilton to the late Mr. and Mrs. James Horace Sr. and Mamie Irene Easterling Thompson. He married Marcelle Knudson on November 28, 1942. Mr. Thompson faithfully and with great honor served his country in the United States Army during WWII on German Soil. After returning home he worked for 35 plus years at the Texas highway department until his retirement.

He is survived by: his daughter, Linda Shaw of Hamilton, His son, Mike Thompson of Sweetwater, 2 granddaughters, Sheila Guerra of Hamilton, and Rhonda Dodson of Abilene, 1 Brother, Bobby Thompson of Hamilton, and one sister Betty Ogle of Hallsville. He is also survived b: his Great-grandchildren, Dustin Colston, Whitney Guerra, Kalob Guerra, Taylor Dodson, and Tyler Gilmer, and by his great-grandchildren, Dakoda Colston and Brayden Colston.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Dustin Colston, Kalob Guerra, and Tyler Gilmer, His Great-Grandsons.
