

Wanda Eula Fisher Billingsley of Hamilton, Texas was born July 5, 1921, near Gatesville in Coryell County and departed this life early on May 12, 2010. She was the 8th of 9 children born to Fred Haynes and Eula Mae Miller Fisher.
During her childhood they lived in various places in Coryell County and Hamilton County, Texas. Wanda graduated from high school at Aleman, Texas. It was during this time that she met James Nathan Billingsley of the Liberty Ohio Community and they were married on September 5, 1938.
To this union were born two sons, James L. Billingsley of Little Rock, Arkansas, H.J. Billingsley (Phyllis) of Waco, Texas, and two daughters, Jean Ranney of Hamilton, Texas, and Mary Hunter (Gary) of Palacios, Texas.
"Nanny" as she was know to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren was a hard working Christian woman who loved all of her family equally. She was a long-time member of the Ireland Church of Christ. She and James visited with many friends in Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and East Texas who were all members of the Church of Christ. James predeceased her on August 5, 1984. She was also predeceased by her parents and all brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her four children, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Doris Fisher of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.
Mom, we will always miss you and give thanks for having such a wonderful mother.
Services were held May 14, 2010, at Riley Funeral Chapel with burial at Live Oak Cemetery.
Pall Bearers were E.J. Belvin, Bill Adcock, Ken Fisher, Jackie Brewer, Joe Carpenter and James Sommerfeld.
Honorary Pall Bearers were G.W. Parrish, Jack Davidson, Travis Latham and Glenn L. Moore.
