Don was born in Harrisburg to Donald and Florence (Lick) Maugans on June 6, 1947 and entered his heavenly home on March 4, 2026.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Maugans (Mary) and William Maugans (Linda); and sisters, Mary Ellen Rivera and Deborah Klobucar.
Don is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 52 years, Jenee Lynn (Furjanic) Maugans; his adoring daughter, Angela; treasured grandson, Rocco; two brothers, Marlin Maugans (Carol) and Michael Maugans (Elizabeth); and two sisters, Linda Guringo (Harry) and Elizabeth Keefer (Charles).
Don graduated from William Penn High School, class of 1965 and is Alumni of Penn State University and held his Commission on Rehab Counselor Certification. He retired from the Commonwealth of PA. Department of Vocational Rehabilitation after 38 years of service. It was there that he was dedicated to the advancement of people with disabilities and instrumental in making advancement for those in need.
Don proudly served as a Lance Corporal in the U S Marine Corp and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Throughout his life he touched many lives with kindness and quiet strength and will be missed but never forgotten, “Semper Fi” “Always Faithful” until we meet again.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, March 11,2026 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St, Harrisburg. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A visitation will be from 11:00 AM Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
