Doris Louise Lewis (Ehrenfeld)(aka Jake), 85, of Harrisburg, passed away in her home on Wednesday, 9/21/22, after her battles with cancer. She was born and raised in Lewistown, later moving to Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard D. Lewis; her Mother, Mattie Deamer Speece; her sister, Roberta Hill; and her brother, Robert Speece.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Pamela Lewis, Dee McHugh, Evawn McCoy, and 1 son, Richard Lewis (Kathy), all of Harrisburg; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; her sister, Gwen Wilson (Dus); and her brother, Paul “Son” Ehrenfeld (Diane).
She was a retired Executive Manager of Lehman Food Brokers; charter member of Ridgeway Community Church; a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 730 and a life member of the VFW Post 148 Auxiliary. She was a dyed-in-the-wool Penn State fan and could talk football with the best. She took much joy and pride in her grandchildren’s academic and athletic accomplishments. She also enjoyed frequent travels, both U.S. and abroad.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2022 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. The funeral service and burial at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens will be held at the convenience of the family.
