Elaine retired as a manager of the Paxtonia Elementary School Cafeteria, taught dance at her home for over 27 years and was an Aerobics instructor. Elaine’s love of dance and performing started as a majorette in high school, then moved to holding twirling lessons in her mother’s driveway. Finally, she built a dance studio in the basement of her home. All the neighborhood girls (and a few boys) came to “Lani’s Dance”. Elaine loved the kids like her own and her professional life was devoted to enriching the lives of her dancers through art. She taught dance up until the late 1990’s, where Parkinson’s would not allow it further. After some time managing the cafeteria at Paxtonia Elementary School, she retired fully and was cared for at home by her husband Ralph and her caretaker/daughter Jessica.
