

Born December 27, 1953, in Clarendon, Jamaica; she was the daughter of the late Ezra Leonard and Gloria Mae (Sterling) Scott; and preceded in death by her brother, Everson Scott.
Hazel is survived by her four sisters, Lyndel Scarlett, of Jamaica, Gene Scott, of Atlanta, GA., Jacqueline Scott and Judith Scott, both of London, England, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dr Hazel Trauffer gained a PhD in Education, at Regent University and retired in 2024 as an Adjunct Professor at Grand Canyon University, where she taught Thesis Writing to PhD candidates in the University’s School of Business Leadership.
Hazel was a beloved member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Harrisburg and served in the choir and with the celebration of communion. She touched many lives and will be missed by many who loved her quick mind and sharp wit.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, 221 N. Front St., Harrisburg, with the inurnment also at St. Stephen’s. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM Saturday, September 19, at St. Stephen’s Cathedral until the time of the service at the church.
