

Born March 24, 1925 in Sioux City, IA. She was the daughter of the late Edwin W. and Teresa J. Tittle. Affectionately referred to as Joey, she was the beloved wife of William S. Miller III for 65 years prior to his passing. She was predeceased in death by her brother Edwin and sister, Phyllis T. Finger.
Joanne is survived by her twins, William IV (wife Judy) and Patricia M. Bartlett and son Douglas (wife Sandy), five grandchildren, and almost five great grandchildren.
A graduate of John Harris High School and Gettysburg College where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Delta Gamma Sorority, Captain of the Basketball and Field Hockey teams and May Court.
She was employed as a Nuclear Chemist on the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos, NM with top FBI clearance before returning to Pennsylvania where she was Manager of Sterling Studios. Active in her community, Mrs. Miller served with the Girls Scouts of the USA in numerous leadership positions, was President of the Paxtang PTA and drove Meals on Wheels for the elderly into her 90s.
Joanne was a 50+ year member of Paxton Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed fishing trips to the family cottage in Canada and skiing with her daughter in Colorado until age 88.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street with visitation beginning at 10AM until time of service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paxton Presbyterian Church or Bethesda Mission.
