Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Kathleen (Lynch) Ross, and their children; Kathy Benton, Betsy Burke (Bob), and John Ross (Katie). He was also the proud grandfather of six cherished grandchildren, who were the light of his life: Siobhan Hontz (David), Ross Benton and his fiancée Bri Paules, Taylor Burke, Honor Burke, Jack Ross, and Daniel Ross.
A proud graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Jack met the love of his life, Kathleen, in Margate, New Jersey. They began their wonderful life together, raising their family in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling across the country, creating lasting memories, and spending some of their best years living in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, before returning to Harrisburg to be near their growing family.
Throughout his career, Jack worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, as well as in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of the Auditor General and the Department of the Treasury.
Jack was an avid sports fan, particularly devoted to his 2-time Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles and the Villanova Wildcats. He also loved golf, the company of family and friends - especially during the holidays - and his sweet little dog, Suki.
A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 10th, at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church in Harrisburg; with a time of visitation from 10:00am - 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Independence Region.
Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
