Nancy Braun Myers, 85, of Harrisburg, died at home on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was born in 1933 at Stafford Springs, CT, the daughter of Alton W. and Lillian Booth Braun. She graduated from Stafford High School in 1951, attended Fisher Junior College in Boston, served as secretary to the assistant to the president of the University of Connecticut, and came to Harrisburg in 1961. Nancy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold; her sons; Lawrence and Jeffrey and his wife, Patrice Ametrano; and 4 grandchildren, Vincent, Gina, Anthony and Angela. She leaves also her largely New England family, including her brother, Alton “Bud” Braun and his wife, Donna; her sister, Virginia Strubell, widow of Russell, all of Stafford; as well as nieces and cousins. Nancy was a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Harrisburg and St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, Swatara Twp. She was dedicated to her home and her family. Later she was employed in agencies of public service. In her last years she suffered from and finally succumbed to the effects of Lewy Body Disease. She had the constant attention of caregivers from Rosa’s Team, for which the family is grateful. A viewing will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg and also 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
