Robert was first married to the late Ruby Shields, and their union was blessed with three children: Marilyn L., Robert N., and Robert L. Jr. (both sons preceded him in death). Professionally, Robert worked for the State of Pennsylvania for many years before joining the Penn Harris Taxi Service Company, where he retired in 1999. Beyond his career, he was well known for his delicious baked macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and spaghetti—dishes he lovingly shared with friends and neighbors.
