Robert (Bob) Alan Williams, age 68, of Harrisburg, was unexpectedly called home to be with our Lord on July 14, 2026, at his residence. Born on November 15, 1957, in Sterling, Illinois, Bob was a devoted husband, godfather, uncle, and friend, and a retired certified government accountant with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Throughout his distinguished career, he was honored with several awards—each one reflecting his dedication, integrity, and many talents.
In retirement, Bob continued to embrace life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He pursued self taught, do it yourself projects around the house, enjoyed working on the family’s two trucks, was a great cook who made fabulous roasts, and initiated various community projects. Though he grew up in Tacoma, Washington, his life’s greatest journey began at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he met his wife of more than 42 years, Antonette (Toni) Markowski. Together they built an extraordinary life filled with shared adventures: tennis, biking, hiking, three unforgettable cross-country road trips—journeys that took them through New Mexico, Oregon and Washington, travels to Maine, Florida, southern California, and the eastern shore, ballroom dancing, and even dog transports. Bob joined Toni on several of her geological outings and meetings, eventually developing his own interest in geology. He had a deep love for animals—especially his cherished beagle, Hero.
Bob was known for being one of the most caring and supportive individuals, always ready with a kind word or a quiet act of generosity. Those fortunate enough to know him were truly blessed by his presence. He is survived by his loving wife, Toni; his brothers, Dave and Bill (and wife Rose); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bob was a man of exceptional character who will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who loved and appreciated him. Thank you, my dearest Bob, for more than 42 wonderful years. May God surround you with peace and love until we meet again.
A celebration of life will be held on August 5 at Neill Funeral Home in Harrisburg at 11 AM followed by lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area | Central PA.
