Bernadette Thomas Lucious

Bernadette Thomas roared into this life on October 7th 1952. The youngest child from the union of Talsie and Henry Thomas. Since her name Bernadette was too long for her 4 year old sister, Tandye to pronounce. So she earned the nickname “Bonnie” after Tandye’s doll. So Bonnie she became.

Bonnie was fearlessly dedicated to her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Her loyalty to her husband, Bobby, her sister's Tandye, Aljuana and Anne-Marie, and her brother Skip and her husband’s family is legendary. She would not let you go without if she had anything to say about it. Bonnie was a truth teller and a no-nonsense kind of person. Known for her fashion sense and her stilettos she could command a room and silence it with one look. She put the “Grand” in Grandmother.

As administrator for the Los Angeles County School district, she worked tirelessly to secure her home so it could be a safe place for her family. A force of nature, she took her leave of this world on December 26th 2024 joining her beloved husband Bobby as well as her mother, father and two sisters, Patricia and Mary.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Sonia, step-daughter, Monique, her grandchildren, Kamron, Kersean, Keenen, Keiano, Khai, and Anaya, her great-grandchildren, siblings and in-laws. To know her was to know she had a passion for her family and she was dedicated to her friends.

A Wake for Bernadette will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Victor Valley, 15609 11th Street, Victorville, CA 92392.
