Gary W. Chacksfield, 68, a long-time resident of the High Desert, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 27, 2018. Gary was born to Dan and Bernice Chacksfield in San Bernardino, CA. He retired from Verizon Phone Company, where he worked for more than 30 years. Gary is survived by his mother, daughters Tracy Chacksfield, Julie Chacksfield, and Amanda Payson, his grandsons Breckan Hunkle, Dakotah Hunkle, and Seth Payson, great-granddaughter Ayleia, sister Linda Spilsbury, brother-in-law Roy Pruiett, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and sister Diana Pruiett. Gary will be deeply missed by all who loved him. A viewing will be held at Kern Hesperia Mortuary, on Tuesday, March 20th from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, followed by graveside services at Desert View Memorial Park at 1:00 pm.
