Jessica Gutierrez

It is with deep sorrow that our family shares the passing of our beautiful Jessica Nicole Gutierrez. She lived in Big Bear, CA and passed in Colton, CA on August 30, 2026 surrounded by family, friends, and love.

Jess was born September 12, 1995 in Boise, Idaho and lived in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho until she moved to Highland, California when she was 2 years old. She grew up and went to school in Highland and Hesperia, CA. Jessica had two beautiful children, Erin (15) and Michael (9), whom she adored. In her 30 years there was nothing she loved more than being a mom and making people happy. She was also an animal lover her whole life; as a toddler she impressed everyone with her knowledge of the names of even the most exotic animals, she took after her mother with her love of horses, and she always had an assortment of interesting and adorable pets throughout life. Jess was silly and hilarious, absolutely gorgeous, loved to read, and was incredibly creative. She made some of the best Halloween costumes for herself and the kids and could make almost anything with a crochet hook and a string of yarn. She was also a great cook, loved sunsets and being out in nature (barefoot), and when she sang people couldn’t help but stop to listen. Her children would like to share that they grew to love music, nature, swimming, Scooby Doo, reading, and animals (especially elephants and cats) through their mom. We will always love Jess for who she was and will keep her memory alive by continuing to care for and do the things she loved.

Jessica is survived by her two children, Erin and Michael, her mother, Carrie Gutierrez, her father, Joe Gutierrez, her life partner, Josue Lopez, her many siblings, Sean, Jennifer, Becca, Angie, Morgan, Travis, Stephanie, Curtis, and Andrea, and her pets, Dobby the dog and Boris the tortoise. She is so loved and will be missed by us all.

The beach was Jessica’s happy place. We will have grave side services at Mountain View Cemetery in San Bernardino, CA and a celebration of life at the beach in November. Details are forthcoming.
