

Norene Taylor (Fawcett Sutton)

Norene Taylor (Fawcett, Sutton), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at 6:05 am. She was born on September 15, 1930, in Springdale, Utah, to Albert Kenneth Fawcett and Leonora Fawcett (Cannon).
Norene was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Clifford L. Taylor, her parents, and her brothers, Claude C. Fawcett, Kenneth Fawcett, Albert (Clark) Fawcett, Edward (Teddy) Fawcett and her sister Catherine Brown (Fawcett) and her stepson Tim Taylor; Her granddaughter Amber O’Neill and her great, great grandchildren, Maggie Agnew, Mannix Agnew and Miles Agnew.
Norene is survived by her three children: Sherry Garrett (Sutton) Husband: Hubert Garrett of Fort Worth, Texas; Linda Curry (Sutton) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Daniel Sutton Wife: Julieta Sutton (Vizcarra) of Apple Valley, CA. She is also survived by her youngest sibling, Mary Jo Pennington (Fawcett) and by her stepchildren: Ken Taylor Wife: Amy Taylor (Picht) of Yucaipa, CA; and Ann Clark (Taylor) Husband: Greg Clark of Los Olivos, CA. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 24 great, great grandchildren who were a great joy in her life.
She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep love for the Lord and His Plan of Salvation. Her faith was reflected throughout her life of service, kindness, and dedication to others.
In 1977, Norene and her husband Cliff moved to the High Desert, where they built a life they loved, surrounded by fresh air and beautiful sunsets. She lived in the Victor Valley for 49 years and witnessed its growth from a small community of about 12,000 residents.
Norene had a deep passion for family history. She served as a Family History Consultant at the Victorville Family History Center for over 20 years, helping countless individuals discover their ancestry. She also preserved her own family legacy by compiling and digitizing more than 30 histories spanning five generations, which were submitted to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. In recognition of her efforts, she received a certificate of appreciation.
Her service in the Church was extensive and heartfelt. She served in Primary, teaching Bluebirds and Seagulls, as well as in the Young Women program as a Beehive and Mia Maid teacher. She also served as a Cub Scout leader, Relief Society Teacher, Visiting Teacher Supervisor, and longtime visiting teacher. Norene faithfully greeted members at church and later served as a Family History Consultant in the Ranchos Ward genealogy class. Professionally, Norene worked in retail at Willet’s Department Store, Harris’s Department Store, and J.C. Penny in San Bernardino. She also worked for several years at Eisenhower High School in Rialto, CA.
Norene loved her family deeply. Though distance sometimes kept them apart, she cherished every opportunity to be together, especially during family Christmas gatherings, which brought her great happiness.
Norene will be remembered for her faith, her service, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her.
