Dr. Baruch Young was not only a truly good doctor but a true friend as well. My brother and I had a camera store on Coney Island Ave and Ave. Z in Brooklyn. Dr. Young was an avid photographer. He loved taking pictures and always brought his film to be developed.  Whenever he came into our store, he stopped, looked around smiled and say his fabled words, "It's a beautiful day" It could be cold, raining, snowing, warm, sunny, or cloudy, but he always said "Ah, It's a beautiful day." He would always give me a checkup at his Mcdonald Ave. office and we would chat. Yes, he was quite a special man. I will miss him, but always remember our talks about world affairs. He was indeed, a real good friend. I am sure he will rest in peace.

After looking on the internet I found out that Baruch Young has passed. I’m feeling so sad to hear & want to express our deepest sympathy. I will always remember him as a friend & our doctor. I never went to go to doctors but when I did I didn’t mind going to him. He made me feel at ease. He was the best diagnostician. He didn’t insist on doing extensive testing unless it was really necessary. He was a one of a kind person with a personality that could not be duplicated. He truly cared about people from his heart & wanted to help you. He would even call you later that night to find out to see if you were feeling better. He was a kind caring person with great knowledge of history & science who also loved photography. In his office he always would ask you a pop up question & make me look on google if I didn’t know the answer. His love for watches was amazing. When he would get another watch he loved to show us his watch in his examining room & I enjoyed looking at each watch. I will always have a warm spot in my heart when I think of him. May he rest in peace.

To our great friend Baruch Young and all his loved ones: We will always cherish each and every Sunday that we spent together with Baruch enjoying his company and the amazing Italian food  my parents prepared. During dinner, Baruch always shared his great knowledge of history as well as being an amazing healer that was more than insightful. His passion and love for photography was more than a hobby for he displayed great artistry and we thank him for taking all the wonderful photos of our family of which we will cherish forever. He would often shared his collection of watches of which he adored. (My mom just reminded me) that he would often joke with  her stating that he found another watch behind the bushes or on the floor and we would all compliment the watch
by stating that it is gorgeousis and soon after we all began laughing because he would make it known that it was purchased. In my opinion (Joe Fierro), I think his admiration for watches was beyond the item itself but instead how much he valued time; time he shared with his friends, his family, his wife, and the importance of time we spend on this earth. It is the quality of time which we spend In this world and not necessarily the quantity of time that matters. For we can make a person smile which may take just one second or two and some live for a hundred years but never make others happy or for that matter produce a smile upon another's face. That said, beyond all the great qualities Baruch possessed he made our family  smile time and time again through his wonderful personality, his contributions as the best doctor I've ever known, the photographs he shared,  the special times we shared with each other and after Sunday dinner he would bless us all in Italian.
Baruch we will miss you a great deal and we know that God has a special place for you. Many blessings to you and your family, from all of us. Nino, Gina, Lina, Steve, Chris, and Joseph. You will always be family.

As I sit here thinking of what to write I get a sharp pain in my side and my first thought is to call berele to ask him what it could be? it’s so hard to comprehend that he will not answer the phone because he always did and always had an answer and made everything alright.I grew up with Dr. Baruch Young  and his children Liza and mordy . Baruch was our family doctor and Friend but more importantly he was part of our  Family and we will miss him dearly because he truly was one in a million He was smart he was funny and he was loyal & honest and lived to help people in need . Thank you for everything  you have done for us Rest in peace Dr. Young  and enjoy taking pictures from up high we love you

I was indeed privileged to care for his patients as a Vascular Surgeon. Interacting with him was to observe that he cared deeply about his patients, and always gave and sought from others the best of care for them.  He was always their advocate, always!   To discuss philosophy, history, science and whatever made working with him even more enjoyable. 

I will surely miss him. I feel so fortunate to have worked with him almost daily for over 20 years.

Words can not express my heart felt thanks and gratitude for all you've done for myself and my family over the years. I will cherish the memories, advice and our talks in clinic. Thank you for always keeping me on my toes with your random trivia questions, for teaching me Hebrew, for always bringing me "medicina" when I had to work night shift, and for the rides home when I had no one else (even if your car was a mess).  Thank you for your kindness and for your wisdom.  You were more than a colleague, you were a friend, even after I moved on from NFB. You will be truly missed.

First, I would like to say, I am so heartbroken over the loss of my brother and that I can’t be there today.                                                                                                           I would like to share a story how I first became to know about Berala.  Our father always told us we had a brother. He was the first born right after liberation in Germany and as a young child went to Israel with this mother Henna , and I can remember on Sunday evenings my father, going to a lawyer, trying to get Berala a visa to come to the United States from Israel . At around the age of 12 the visa was obtained and Berala was coming to the United States. I think the first time I met him was either on a Saturday or a Sunday with a beautiful sunny day and he came to our house in Brighton Beach. In the afternoon, my father said, why don’t you show him Coney Island, so I took Beryl on a walk on the boardwalk down to Coney Island to show him all the rides. He asked me which one I like best and I I told him the cyclone. Berala didn’t go on, but he put me on for a few rides, Then I took him to Nathens .If it might’ve been over the same weekend but there’s a picture I posted that I took on the circle line going around New York City with our father our other brother Victor.                                                                                       We only had a one bedroom apartment for four people so we really didn’t have room for Berala to stay. Our parents knew of the Weiss family and that he had rooms for rent in Brighton Beach. Mommy got in touch with Mr. weiss to get Berala a room.  That was the first ripple in the water to all the steps of Berala meeting Helen Weiss and the rest is history.  I will always remember the happy times of holidays, joyous and sad occasions, and all the special times of having coffee on Ave U to “Heshey let’s go to Lenny’s. “     I will always miss you Berala , your light will never go out.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Young. His legacy will continue to shine through the lives he touched. My thoughts and condolences are with family during this difficult time.

Dr Young touched so many lives in the very best way. I’m grateful I got the chance to know him as both a colleague and a friend.

You had the most engaging stories and you spoke for hours about every topic that interested you, like the civil war through current events, torah, etc.. your quirks were never ending, including your love for grandfather clocks and banana sandwiches. you always brought our family together no matter what and you were like the rock of our family. i love you. bde ❤️❤️

I worked with Dr. Young since 2/84 when we opened the South Unit together.
Throughout our many years,  he was always there for the patient, doing whatever needed to be done.
He was also very supportive of the Nurses and entire staff. 
He was a truly wonderful man and physician whose life calling was to help others. 
Dr Young also had a great sense of humor and he would always bring the Nurses trinkets, leaving them on our desks to surprise us.
It has truly been an honor to work with him all of these years.
I will miss my “Baruch” very much!
I also realize I was lucky enough to share my career with such a special man.

What can I say about Dr. Young…🥲
Good memories. Such a sweet and funny man in his own little way. He used to call me Lilith. I didn’t know what he was referring to, he had no problem explaining it .. and we laughed about it. “Give me that chart snell” he would say.
Whenever one of us ladies came to work without earring on he would say “ohhh she naked”. Dr. Young would come with a bag of earring and say pick something out, put it on.
If Dr young found out it was your birthday he would say “ go to Mazzuchin and pick something out”.  He was always camera ready for picture taking. When lunch rolled around he would say “ohhh let me taste it to make sure it’s not poisoned ”.  
Dr. Young always had a story to tell.  So intelligent, sweet , generous and funny . That’s how I’d like to remember him❤️. Rest well Dr. Young.
