Wonsever, David, 101, of East Rockaway, NY passed away 4/1/2015. David is survived by his loving children, sons Josef and Brian, daughter, The Honorable Rachel Kretser, and cherished grandchildren Sarah, Jonathan, James, and Jennifer. His beloved wife, Eithne, preceded him in death. A classic American success story, David immigrated to this country from Poland at the age of 5, the youngest of six children. He worked his way through college and graduate school, earning a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University. David was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army from 1942-1945. A member of the Hewlett East Rockaway Jewish Center for more than 60 years, David attended services faithfully, walking more than a mile each way every Saturday until he was in his early nineties. Chapel services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2015, at Boulevard-Riverside Chapel, 1450 Broadway, Hewlett, NY 516.295.3100 with a burial to follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery, E. Farmingdale, Suffolk County.
