Baruch Dayan Emes. Harold was an old, old friend from the 1970's.  I have said the kaddish for him on many occasions in the Synagogue.  I pray that his passing be an atonement and that his neshamah will have an aliyah.

Very sad to learn of Harold's passing. He was the first to make comment on my photography. A lover of his pieces, he holds a place in my heart as one of the best nature photographers. An inspiration for me. Though, I didn't meet him in person. His photography serves as an inspiration to keep capturing moments. Your spirit will forever live within my heart through your photos. Mr. Begun posted many beautiful photos on the Facebook wall for Town of Hempstead's Marine Nature Study Area.  Although we never met Mr. Begun, we'll always be grateful for his advocacy of this rare wetlands preserve.
Our sincere condolences to his family.

Harold will be missed on 72dpi, his photography was so skillfully done and beautiful to view.  I did not know Harold personally, however, he set the bar for excellence.

Ellen and Ben, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your husband and father.  My heart aches for you and wish I was there to pay my respects.  If you need anything at all, please call me!  My deepest sympathies to you both and your extended family.

So sorry to learn of Harold's passing.  He, several times, took the opportunity to meet with me as I travelled to NY on vacation....and showed me some good photography opps as well as instructed me, out of the goodness of his heart, on how to better my craft.  I was truly in awe at how he could give so much of himself when he barely knew me but he wanted to help me get the best shots I could.  Great man....I am a better person for having known him even if it was briefly.  RIP

I am so, so sorry to hear about the passing of this wonderful person and photographer. Harold was so kind and helpful to me through the years. His wonderful work has been such an inspiration to me. I know of his love for his family and they are in my prayers. You will be missed!

I never met Harold, but he was part of a photography community called 500px and gave many of us photographers great inspiration with his wonderful images! Rest his soul and condolences to his entire family for their loss. He will be missed...
