Baruch Dayan HaEmes. My heart is so heavy hearing the news about Dr. Reicher I wish I had known sooner. He wasn’t just a pediatrician — he was truly one of a kind. He took such incredible care of my children from the moment they were born. He even gave me his personal cell phone number and would always say, “Why didn’t you just call me? I’ll always pick up!” That level of care, warmth, and devotion is something you don’t forget.

Every visit, he made us feel supported, heard, and reassured. When I told him we were moving, he was genuinely happy for us to start a new chapter and went out of his way to help us find a new pediatrician. That was who he was — always giving, always caring, always thinking of his patients.

Thank you, Dr. Reicher, for taking such good care of my children during the first precious years of their lives. We will always remember you and the kindness you showed our family. May his memory be a blessing.

BDE. I am late to find out about Dr Reischer's passing but I DO want to add some memories. He was a warm, generous, open minded physician who really stood out. I presented him with new ideas to which he listened attentively then embraced. He allowed me to use his office, free of charge, to conduct La Leche League Couples meetings. He understood that new mothers need knowledgable support from their partners and the partners need support too. 
He  really listened to his patients. One expectant mother came to him to ask if she could induce lactation for a baby being carried by a surrogate. Dr Reicher referred her to me. The mother succeeded in nursing that baby. That meant a lot to her. Dr Reischer facilitated that though he had probably not heard of induced lactation before. He was respectful of this parent's personal preferences in parenting. An unusual man at that time. A wonderful man and a good doctor. Much appreciated and now, missed.

Dr. Reicher was our pediatrician for my 2 daughters, from birth until they were 3 years old.  We moved out of state but never forgot him!  My children are 21 and 20 now.   I have memories of bouncing my kids down the stairs to get into his office and the waiting room with the wooden toys and tootsie pops.
He was a a dedicated and kind man.  He gave his all.   
To his family, thank you.  I know you sacrificed too so that us patients could have him.  We grieve with you.

I am deeply saddened to learn that my sibling and I were his patients since we were five years old. I discontinued my visits a few years ago, as I am now in my mid-twenties. He was always present during my hospitalizations, providing invaluable resources to my mother when we faced challenges. He referred us to the best specialists for my brother’s heart health concerns. He will undoubtedly remain an esteemed physician in my life.

Dr. Reischer was my children's pediatrician since we had my first born son, Liam, who is  now 21 years old. Dr. Reischer was caring, funny and firm with all 5 of our children. It was such a shock hearing about his passing. He joked with my husband and me whenever we came in with the children. We will all miss him very much. He truly showed dedication to his work in terms of practice and teaching even as his health declined. What a big heart! Rest in peace.

I am so sadden to hear the news, I feel so heartbroken. My son has been going to him since he was few months old. May god rest his soul in peace. My deepest condolence to his family. He was a great person and an awesome doctor to my son. He will be missed.

Dr. Reischer was so kind to me and my family. My husband and I met him while I was still pregnant to talk with him about what to expect when the baby came. That was over 15 years ago. I used to love going to his old office, bouncing my stroller down the steps. The kids always loved playing with the wood beads and other toys and books he had in the office. When my son was tiny, Dr. Reischer  let me nurse in a separate room to keep other older children who may be sick away from my newborn. Both my son and daughter now 15 and 11  benefited from his quick hand administering their early shots. I didn’t know if of his passing until today. Such sad news for the community and his family. He will be missed and remembered.

Dr Reischer was our children's pediatrician for 18 years since the day of the birth of our son.  He was one of the very best doctors and the very best human beings we have ever met. He was a great support to our family, a proactive medical expert, out of the box thinker who inspired us, full of warmth, compassion and understanding.  He was always driven and available to help and support the health of our family. He was like a family to us, even though we never met in private outside of his office. It is with great sadness that we received the news of Dr Reicher passing away. 
Dr Reischer: you have made our lives better, and you have made this world a better place!  May your work continue to shine through the light you have created around you!

Dr Reischer was so special to me since my pregnancy. We connected deeply and my mother also suffered with Parkinson’s disease. 
I would love to meet his children and let them know how much he impacted my life and how wonderful he was to my daughter.

My heart and my entire family’s hearts are so heavy today since we found out about the passing of Dr Reischer. He was always there for us and gave everything to his patients. He even visited my child when she was in the hospital to check up on her. He always saw us no matter how late it was. He always responded to his pager and he even gave us his home phone number. He always called to follow up. We will never have another doctor like him in our lives. My daughter will be going to college this fall and she told me she never thought she wouldn’t see him before going. He saw my son the day after he was born and did the newborn tests since he was a home birth. I never felt judged by him. He was always honest, no nonsense. I can’t believe I will not put his name down anymore as my children’s pediatrician. I will miss talking to him and catching up with him. He made an impact on so many generations  of children in Forest Hills. He will live forever in our hearts.

I just called the practice to naively schedule an appointment for my 11 year old. We’ve been going to Dr. Reischer since 2001. A great doctor, a great man, a great human. What a loss. We are all heartbroken. May you rest in eternal peace, Dr. Reischer.

A true humanitarian in every sense of the word, Izzy touched the lives of everyone who knew him. A most fine and humble gentleman.
I had the honor of working for him for 15 years and witnessed so many people, including myself, that he had helped in so many special ways. He was my now grown children’s pediatrician for all of their youth, as well as well as my friend for nearly half my life. When I told my elder son of his passing, he said “Wow! That’s terrible. Big loss for the world.” I couldn’t agree more. He will be sorely missed.
