Joseph Adasko, 93, of Cedarhurst, NY, died peacefully in his home on Saturday. He was married to Beulah Adasko, who died February 26, 2001. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Morris and Lena Adasko. Joseph Adasko was a leading international freight forwarder who was instrumental in creating the export business for the United States. On March 8, 1984, he was honored by President Reagan, receiving President "E" Award. He was a philanthropist involved in many organizations, including Green Chimneys, The Center for Hearing and Communication's, and The South Shore Association of Independent Living. He had friends and acquaintances from around the world. He received Man of The Year awards from the UJA in 1974 and 1988. Joe is survived by his son Lee (Carol) and daughter Lauren (the late Fred), grandchildren Chase, Chelsea, Daniel, Chandler, and his great grandson Ryder Joseph. He is also, survived by his sister Bea Flaig.
