

Surrounded by his wife and daughters, Dr. Karl E. Bernstein died on Saturday, June 7th after a brave and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, 6 weeks short of his 80th birthday. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Eiseman), the adored father of Amy Feldman (Steven), Jan Rosenblum (Michael) and the cherished brother of Karen Goldstein and the late Maj. Ivan H. Bernstein. Karl was the loving and fun Pampa to Rachel and Brooke Rosenblum and Harris Feldman as well as a nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Puccini lover, train enthusiast and educator extraordinaire, he worked his entire 32-year career at Meyer Levin JHS (285K) as both a legendary science teacher and revered assistance principal. As an Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver award recipient, Karl was devoted for more than 68 years to Brooklyn Boy Scouting, Ten Mile River Scout Camp and his brothers of the Order of the Arrow.
He was loved by all that knew him, always ready with a smile, handshake, and a joke. To those whose lives he touched, you are richer for it.
