Hey Marilyn and family

We loved Richard. We also love Marilyn and family as well

Richard was such a sweet man. We hope that he did not suffer. He was always smiling and often with a quick comment that caused everyone to smile.. he was a good golfer and a better commentator. I remember, as a high handicap “golfer” I teed off and had an unusual great drive. Richard, who was watching me said : “Did you have sex this morning “ I will not tell you my response.

So sad. We mourn his loss. He was a good friend and will be missed.

Stay safe . Love yas

Marilyn,
Steve Feldman just told me about Richard’s passing. I remember years ago when he played Tennis in our tennis group with Steve and many of my friends. Richard was a wonderful and kind person and I always enjoyed our friendship. It was also so kind of you to invite Linda and I to join you and the Feldman’s at your beautiful home in Atlantic Beach. Those were such wonderful times and we were so lucky to share them. All my best to you and your beautiful family and may he RIP forever.

Dear Marilyn, Bryan, Matthew, Jessica and the extended Roth Family,
I am so very sorry for your enormous loss.
Richard was my daily morning commute seat mate for many years and was also a very dear and loyal friend. During those train rides, we discussed anything and everything -- the state of world politics, global economics, vacations, movies and our families. He was so proud of you all and adored his grandchildren.
Even though Covid and Richard's retirement halted our commute together, Richard suggested that we try to meet up once a month to catch up and so we did. Richard was kind and funny and gave wonderful advice. His steady hand guided me through career and life changes. I recently pulled out my resume to update it and there were hand written edits all over it that were not mine -- Richard and I had a good chuckle about that when we last met earlier this Summer.
Rest Easy my dear friend. LIRR Journeys will continue to be lonelier but you have left a beautiful imprint on our hearts that helps each of us to be a good person and an even better friend.

Marilyn, Bryan, Matt, Jessica & The Entire Roth Family:

I hope the incredible memories you all shared together with Richard soften the sadness you are feeling today.

Here's to more sunsets and more birdies Richard!

With love,
Forrest Family

Dear Bryan, Heidi, and family,

We wish you so much strength during this difficult time after the passing of your dad. Hopefully, you can support each other through these tough days.

I still remember you telling Sandra and me in Milan about your dad and his illness, and how you were going to visit him over the summer to enjoy time together.

It won't always be easy now. I know what you're going through all too well: my dad passed away at the beginning of July, and we still miss him every day.

Warm wishes and big hugs from us,

Geert and Sandra from Belgium

Sweet Memories abound with Richard and Marilyn Roth

New Year's Eve together year after year, even remembering the time I drank tequila thinking it was water!
A Riverboat ride in Savannah when the pouring rain did not deter our joy even though we were soaking wet.
Bountiful parties given on their beautiful deck while watching the sun set; we shared the love of their friends who were fortunate enough to be loved by them too.
Laughter and love along with serious wisdom and kindness was always celebrated when we were with Richard and Marilyn.
Their love for each other was so profound, playful and respectful… truly a depth of love many have never known.
I've known Marilyn since 5th grade. We’ve shared dance and friendship, even interior design. We knew each other's parents and grew closer over time. Being together with our husbands, both bald I might add, was always so special.
My husband Stephen and I loved Richard's honesty, dedication, intelligence, generosity and of course his inimitable sense of humor that was a joy to everyone.
May he rest in peace
Richard, we will always love you.
Marilyn we are here to love you.

To the Roth Family

Although my friendship with Rich is only 10 years old, we had a strong connection!

We learned that we share the same date of birth (October 12th)! Whenever we would see each other our greeting was always the same - hello my brother from another mother!

I will always remember our own personal greeting and of course will always remember Rich. As the kind, friendly and generous person he was!

My heart goes out to the entire family!

Richard was a warm, caring, and loving friend who always wanted to help a friend in any way he was able. His smile lit up the room and we will miss all our great conversations with him.
Our deepest sympathies to Marilyn, and her children and grandchildren. May the warmth of your family and friends help you through this most difficult time. Our love to you all.

Richie...my good friend and golfing buddy for many years. I can't begin to say how much I'll miss him. His family and friends were everything to him. We had an email exchange just after New Years Eve, 2026. There were eight of us who had gotten together to celebrate the new year. I thanked him and Marilyn for being the glue that holds things together. His response..."We appreciate your feelings about a very enjoyable New Years Eve. It is our pleasure to maintain the friendships with our wonderful long-time friends. Hoping for many more healthy, happy occasions to get together".
If only...
