Sidney Friedman

Sidney Friedman, international entrepreneur, inventor, avid boater and sports fisherman, passed away on May 4, 2016 at the age of 83. Sidney was the son of the late Yetta and David Friedman, father of the late Dean and Andrew Friedman, and grandfather of Zane Friedman.

Beloved companion to Harriet Harkavy. Brother to Harold, Leon, Barbara, and the late Paul, Florence and Edna; uncle to many loving nieces and nephews.

Sidney, the founder and owner of Opsales, an innovator in the sunglass and optical field, was devoted to his long-time employees. He was a founding member of the Sunglass Association of America and a past President. Sidney lived between Oceanside, NY and Jupiter, FL, often aboard his boat the “Best Revenge”.
